About this file

The document is an Attachment 2 - Project Deliverables for a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Research Announcement (RA #693JK325RA0001) with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). The project focuses on pipeline safety research and development, specifically investigating multi-layer pipeline coating disbondment mechanisms and residual stress analysis.

The project deliverables outline eight key milestones, including conducting a kick-off team meeting, performing analytical and finite element analysis, measuring material properties, conducting adhesion and degradation tests, and establishing an understanding of coating disbondment mechanisms. Each deliverable has a specific timeline, ranging from 3 to 24 months from the agreement's effective date. The final project outcomes include quarterly and monthly status reports, a final project report, research brief, peer review reports, and a conference paper submission. The research is intended to develop a recommended strategy for reducing multi-layer pipeline coating disbondment.

SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

1. Conduct Kick-Off Team meeting and determine experimental procedure to measure residual stress. Results due to DOT within 3 months of the effective date of the Agreement.

2. Conduct analytical and finite element analysis to calculate residual stress and align experimental results with the mechanical modeling. Results due to DOT within 6 months of the effective date of the Agreement.

3. Measure material properties, residual stress, prepare free films and adhesion test panels, and establish mechanical modeling of the residual stress of the multi-layer coatings. Results due to DOT within 9 months of the effective date of the Agreement.

4. Conduct adhesion and free film degradation test and residual stress relaxation testing. Results due to DOT within 21 months of the effective date of Agreement.

5. Establish an understanding of multi-layer pipeline coating disbondment mechanism(s) due to residual stress development resulting from coating manufacturing/extrusion process and characteristics of surface anchor profile and surface preparation methods. Due to DOT within 24 months of the effective date of the Agreement.

6. Determine a recommended strategy to reduce multi-layer pipeline coating disbondment. Due to DOT within 24 months of the effective date of the Agreement.

7. Prepare and submit quarterly status reports, monthly progress reports, final project report, final research brief, and peer review reports in accordance with the Agreement.

8. Prepare paper submission to conference presentations and publication to NACE or other pipeline conference. Due to DOT within 24 months of the effective date of the Agreement.
