About this file

This document is an Invasive Plant Priority Treatment List for 2026 that identifies plant species requiring management attention.

The Priority Treatment List designates 23 invasive plant species as high-priority targets for treatment and removal efforts. These priority species include cheatgrass, common St. Johnswort, Dalmatian toadflax, field bindweed, hoary alyssum, oxeye daisy, scentless chamomile, silver cinquefoil, spotted knapweed, sulfur cinquefoil, white campion, yellow toadflax, Canada thistle, common mullein, houndstongue, musk thistle, yellow sweetclover, kochia, black henbane, bull thistle, leafy spurge, meadow hawkweed, and orange hawkweed.

The Watch List contains an additional 54 invasive plant species that require monitoring and evaluation for potential future treatment prioritization. These watch list species include African rue, Austrian fieldcress, baby's breath, bouncing bet, Brazilian elodea, chicory, common bugloss, common crupina, common reed, poison hemlock, purple loosestrife, Russian knapweed, Russian olive, Scotch broom, yellow starthistle, and numerous others. The dual-category approach allows for focused resource allocation on the most problematic invasive species while maintaining surveillance of emerging invasive threats within the management area.
