About this file
This document outlines security requirements for a federal contract to refurbish and upgrade elevators in two buildings at a Veterans Affairs facility. The successful contractor will be required to obtain security clearances for all employees per Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 and Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201. All contractor and subcontractor personnel will need to comply with the VA's security management program by obtaining permission and badges to access only authorized areas of the facility. Long-term project workers will undergo background checks including fingerprinting for VA badges, while short-term workers may be escorted. The contractor must ensure all required security paperwork and fingerprinting is completed promptly. Additionally, the contractor must adequately protect work areas against vandalism and theft at no added cost to the government.
The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation to refurbish and upgrade elevators in two buildings at the Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 facility. Offerors will be required to meet the security requirements outlined in the attached document.
