About this file

This document provides the lock standards for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Alaska. Standard office locks, storeroom locks, deadbolts, mortise locks, and electronic locks are specified, primarily the Best Lock System. Acceptable lock models and manufacturers are listed for various applications including offices, dormitories, communications rooms, and ADA compliance. An optional magstripe basis V system is outlined for main base entries, interior offices, perimeters, and stairwells. Fire rated panic hardware requirements are described for all fire stairwell and corridor doors. A patented core system from Best is mandated with cores to be ordered by the JBER lock shop and installed by them, paid for by the contractor. The related federal contract opportunity is for solicitation number FA500021R0040 to provide repair of piping and HVAC systems at building B750 on JBER, as described in the attachments.
