About this file

This document is a SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) Contract Clause for contractors and technical representatives working with U.S. Forces Korea (USFK). The clause outlines comprehensive guidelines for contractors operating in the Republic of Korea, including provisions for contractor status, legal jurisdiction, medical support, training requirements, and operational protocols. Key requirements include obtaining written approval from USFK for contractor status, compliance with U.S., host country, and international laws, and adherence to specific training and evacuation procedures.

The clause details critical operational expectations such as medical support (limited to resuscitative care and stabilization), vehicle licensing requirements, next of kin notification procedures, and personnel recovery protocols. Contractors must comply with local regulations, complete theater-specific training, and understand that their SOFA status can be withdrawn for non-compliance with Korean laws or U.S. military directives. The document emphasizes the contractors' responsibilities in supporting U.S. Armed Forces in Korea, including cooperation with USFK's Responsible Officer and maintaining appropriate conduct throughout their contract period.
