About this file
This is a Statement of Work for HVAC system replacement at two USDA Agricultural Research Service buildings located at 103 Bermuda Drive, Tifton, Georgia. The contractor must remove existing disjointed mini-split HVAC units and install cohesive multi-zone heating and cooling systems capable of serving all identified spaces. In Building 15, the work includes removing systems in rooms 1, 2, 4, 6, and storage room (estimated capacities ranging from 1.5 to 4 tons) and installing central heating/air conditioning with supply and return ducting. In Building 3, the contractor must remove and replace systems in rooms 1, 2, and 5 (each estimated at 1.5 tons). Both buildings require sealing exterior penetrations, disconnecting/capping electrical and plumbing connections no longer needed, installing drip pans and drainage piping, providing programmable thermostats with heat/cool setpoints and daily scheduling, and delivering system operational training. All work must be completed as turn-key service with the contractor furnishing all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and quality control.
The project completion timeline is 90 days from the Notice to Proceed, with a detailed project schedule due within 14 days of contract award. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The contractor must submit a Site Safety Specific Plan/Accident Prevention Plan within 7 days of award and conduct all work inspections with minimum three-day advance written notice. Key requirements include contractor responsibility for hazardous materials assessment, disposal of all removed materials and debris off-site, dust and noise abatement, site cleanup, and three written submittals of shop drawings and specifications. The contractor must verify all dimensions and site conditions prior to commencing work, provide their own restroom facilities, and protect all work and existing property; any damage must be repaired at contractor expense. A pre-bid site visit is encouraged, and the government will conduct final inspection and acceptance prior to payment.
