There are high voltage transmission lines in near proximity to the site, which provide reliable elec-tric service. The public water supply system is reliable. There are no reported issues with the ex-isting municipal sewer system. The actual site itself is relatively flat and is fully accessible by paved roads.
The USG cannot validate the accuracy of any information provided by the Government of the Ba-hamas.

C.3.0 Specific Tasks
The construction firm’s role will consist of providing services to include, but not limited to, the ren-ovation and construction of the Police College buildings outlined in Section J. The construction drawings and specifications provided by INL are professionally developed by an architectural/engi-neering firm and quantity surveyor and are based off existing designs and drawings provided by Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The U.S. Government is not liable for the accuracy of the existing drawings.
The Contractor will be licensed and certified to perform renovation and construction services for the Police College in the country of The Bahamas. The Contractor is required to have the Contrac-tor’s representative based in the Nassau area at the time of construction. The Contractor will be required to supply qualified in-house support personnel, project management oversight, and qual-ity control monitoring. It is the U.S. government’s desire that the Contractor will work with local suppliers to construct the Police College that will meet the requirements for INL and Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. All components must be designed to be either trans-ported to the site via truck and assembled using a minimum amount of equipment or fabricated and constructed on-site.
The proposed work includes but is not limited to the following items (see Section J-3-1 Specifica-tions for a comprehensive listing):
A. ROOF REPLACEMENT: Replace the existing roof with a new hurricane-rated roof, as the ex-isting asphalt shingle roofing is aging, leaks have been reported, and many patches are visi-ble. An asphalt shingle roof (to match the existing) with a product life of 15-20 years has been selected, but the specifications provide other acceptable options to be considered.
B. EXTERIOR WINDOW AND DOOR REPLACEMENT: Replacement of exterior windows and doors.
C. INTERIOR ROOM UPGRADES: Interior room upgrades, primarily in the classrooms, including new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, electrical devices, lighting, etc.

These bathrooms are currently unconditioned and in dis-repair with original plumbing pipes. Other building bathrooms have recently had new piping and fixtures replaced and are functioning adequately.
F. KITCHEN UPGRADES: High priority life-safety and health-safety kitchen upgrades, including equipment and room finishes. A new washroom area will be created, a new vent hood with fire suppression installed, new water supply piping installed to replace aging galva-nized steel pipes, new electrical wiring installed, and a new HVAC unit installed.
G. COMPUTER LAB UPGRADE: A computer lab upgrade, including room finishes and network wiring/Wi-Fi (but not including new network equipment or computers). In addition, the of-fices will be removed and replaced with one central office for ease of instructor use.
H. MAIN ELECTRICAL SERVICES UPGRADE: Main electrical service upgrade, including electrical distribution panels, including the replacement of building mounted electrical distribution panels, branch panels and equipment disconnects that are currently non-code compliant.
These pieces of equipment create a life safety issue. Upgrade of the service transformer, main disconnect and transfer switch, and generator are not included and will remain in service as is.
I. ELECTRICAL UPGRADES: Electrical upgrades, including interior and exterior lighting, power outlets, etc., primarily within the classrooms. This includes code required life-safety up-grades for exposed above ceiling wiring and wire splices.
J. HVAC UPGRADES: HVAC upgrades, including spilt system A/C units, exhaust fans, etc. are being recommended for all units that are at or nearing the end of their service life. New exhaust fans are being specified in the bathrooms to provide ventilation. This work is des-ignated to be within the construction contractor’s bid alternate #4
