About this file
This specification document outlines the technical requirements for a fiberglass service body with an integrated 37-foot articulating/telescoping aerial lift to be procured and installed by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation through Request for Bid (RFB) 157-25. The project involves the procurement of two complete units, each consisting of a service body mounted on a 2025 Ford F550 Standard Cab 2X4 chassis paired with a personnel aerial lift system. The service body specifications require a fiberglass construction measuring 132 inches long by 48 inches high by 94 inches wide, featuring multiple compartments with adjustable shelving, stainless steel hardware, LED lighting, and specialized equipment including a storage box, tailshelf with ICC bumper, and a 2.5-inch receiver hitch assembly. The aerial lift must achieve a minimum 37-foot height to the bottom of the basket, 41-foot working height, and 25-foot horizontal reach with a 350-pound capacity walk-through bucket. The bid distribution is scheduled for April 9, 2025, with questions due by April 16, 2025, and a bid closing date of April 30, 2025, at 9:00 AM Eastern Time. Successful vendors must complete delivery and installation within forty-five business days of contract award to the NH DOT Mechanical Services location in Concord. The warranty period is two years from the truck's in-service date, with the vendor required to provide two equipment safety inspections, vendor-supplied training, and complete operator and repair manuals.
Vendors must maintain service and repair facilities within a 45-mile radius of Concord, New Hampshire, and be registered with the NH Bureau of Purchase and Property. General liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate is required. The specification references specific lift models as indicative of quality standards—including the Versa lift SST-37NE, UTEM UTLN41, and DUR-A-LIFT DTAS38—though other models meeting the stated specifications will be considered. The hydraulic system must be PTO-driven with a minimum 2 GPM pump rated at 1,300 psi operating pressure, and the boom must rotate 360 degrees continuously. Vendors must supply two complete sets of Safety Data Sheets for all construction and coating materials used in manufacturing and finishing. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all technical specifications, with emphasis on environmental considerations including energy efficiency, reusability, and recyclability of materials. No specific budget range is disclosed in the specification.
