Statement of Work Summary: Replace Grease Traps
This is a Statement of Work for construction services at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. The project involves removing and replacing five kitchen grease traps within a 120 calendar day performance period. The specified equipment is Zurn Z1170-400-ZS stainless steel grease traps or equal alternatives, with installations requiring appropriate mounting options for existing floor conditions. Work includes cutting floors as necessary for removal and replacement, connecting piping to new units, installing grease traps flush with floor level, and patching floors with matching materials and colors subject to Contracting Officer Representative (COR) approval. The project encompasses three kitchen locations: Canteen Kitchen, Dietetics Kitchen, and Dishwashing area, with photographs provided in the SOW showing existing trap configurations.
All construction services including labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision are the contractor's responsibility. A qualified manufacturer's representative must verify complete installation conformance to manufacturer specifications, place the system into service, and perform required adjustments, demonstrations, and testing. An operating test must be conducted in the presence of the COR. Work hours must be coordinated with VA Dietetics and Canteen staff to minimize kitchen disruption (Dietetics operates 0630–1830 daily; Canteen operates 0630–1430 daily). Compliance with VA Infection Control requirements is mandatory. Deliverables include manuals and warranty documents per project specifications. Final acceptance requires a systems demonstration by the installer with COR present. All equipment and supplies are contractor-provided, as no Government-Furnished Equipment will be available.
