About this file
This document is a detailed art configuration and medium specification for the United States Space Command (USSC) Art and Branding Project for Building 1, dated 10 April 2025. The file outlines specific artwork requirements for multiple walls across the building's first, second, and third floors, with precise specifications for art placement, dimensions, medium, and artistic style. Each wall is assigned a unique configuration, primarily using acrylic prints (with one metal print) featuring digital art styles including space landscapes, satellite imagery, corporate themes, and operational imagery.
The artwork specifications include detailed guidelines for multi-panel configurations, with individual panel sizes ranging from 4' x 3' to 10' x 10', and strict requirements for panel placement and symmetry. The predominant medium is acrylic print, with recommended thicknesses varying from 1/8" to 1/2" depending on artwork size. Art styles are diverse, including digital representations of GPS and Milstar satellites, space landscapes, cyber and human spaceflight themes, ground-based space systems, and corporate-related collages. The project appears to be a comprehensive visual branding effort to enhance the aesthetic and narrative environment of the U.S. Space Command facility.

USSC Art and Branding Project
Chosen Wall Configurations and Mediums
USSC J4X
10 April 2025
Terminology Intent
• Multi-Panels: wall art pieces exceeding 96" x 48" may require multiple panels;
individual panels shall not have a dimension less than 36" (exceptions require government approval); final wall art piece shall use the minimum number of panels required; division of wall art into multiple panels shall be done with consideration to symmetry and "artistic" rationale of the overall graphic to select joints/breaks where it is least disruptive to the imagery
• Medium: the material the art will be printed on or made up of.
• Acrylic Print: Artworks printed on acrylic sheets, offering a glossy and contemporary look. Face-Mounted Acrylic Prints: Images printed on paper and mounted behind acrylic.
o Medium Artwork (up to 24" x 36"): For medium-sized artwork, a thickness of 1/8" (3 mm) to 3/16" (4.5 mm) is sufficient This provides additional support and rigidity without being overly heavy.
o Large Artwork (over 24" x 36"): Larger pieces of artwork require thicknesses of 3/16" (4.5 mm) to 1/4" (6 mm) or more to ensure stability and reduce the risk of bowing or flexing.
o Oversized: Thicker acrylic panels of 1/4" (6 mm) to 1/2" (12 mm) or even more might be used. Contractor to balance rigidity and safety versus weight of final piece with mounting requirements.
• Metal Print: Artworks printed on aluminum, for a modern and sleek appearance.
Process shall be high-resolution images infused into metal using dye-sublimation.
Chromaluxe luxe HD quality. Direct print is not permitted.
