About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a fire hydrant repair project at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The project involves replacing 29 fire hydrants across multiple contract line items (CLINs), with specific requirements for hydrant removal, installation of new left-turn and three-way style hydrants, and associated infrastructure. The work includes installing isolation/gate valves, thrust blocks, metal valve boxes with concrete collars, and performing flow tests. The project is divided into four CLINs based on the presence of isolation valves and potential asbestos, covering hydrants with identification numbers ranging from 1-10 to 10-63.
The total project is estimated at 111 calendar days, with 30 days for preparation, 90 days for construction, and 21 days for closeout. The contractor must obtain necessary permits from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), follow specific installation guidelines, and adhere to various federal and state standards. Key requirements include providing detailed as-built drawings, material submittals, ensuring new equipment meets manufacturer specifications, and submitting daily reports with photographic evidence. The project emphasizes careful debris disposal, minimal interference with base operations, and a minimum one-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
