About this file

The document is a detailed demolition plan drawing for the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Center Console Replacement project at Logan International Airport. The technical drawing, prepared by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), shows a precise floor plan of the ATCT cab with specific details about existing floor penetrations and demolition requirements. Key notes include:

The drawing provides specific instructions for the contractor, such as field verifying dimensions, protecting existing equipment, maintaining floor and ceiling hatches, and limiting work hours to 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM to minimize disruption to air traffic operations. Floor penetrations are categorized with specific handling instructions, including which holes will remain and must be covered by new base cabinets or slatwall bases. The plan indicates the new console's footprint will incorporate specific floor penetrations (holes #3, #5, and #6), with dash lines showing support steel under the cab floor. The drawing is part of a small business set-aside procurement for office furniture manufacturing, specifically for designing and installing a new center console system in the Boston Air Traffic Control Tower.
