About this file
This document is an attachment containing original questions and responses for the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) Glenwood Maintenance Facility (GMF) Fuel Tank Replacement project in Colorado. The project involves replacing existing underground fuel tanks and used and new oil tanks, including replacement of fuel dispensers and adding remote fueling locations. The project requires multiple permits from the State of Colorado, including UST (Underground Storage Tank) removal and installation permits. Key project details include maintaining existing fuel systems during construction, managing environmental assessments, and coordinating utility locates and site surveying.
The project involves several technical specifications, with the contractor responsible for quality control testing and environmental compliance. RFTA will handle environmental testing, including soil sampling and Environmental Site Assessment Closure reports. The project includes specific requirements for tank removal, backfill disposal, and utility connections. Gravel storage will be permitted in the lower lot, and existing diesel and unleaded fuel systems will remain operational throughout construction. The contractor will be responsible for managing tank removal, installing new tanks with specific backfill requirements, and coordinating with RFTA's design team and environmental consultants.
