Any reutilized structural member shall be physically stamped and signed by the architect in a visible location, for visual inspection by the COR. It is not only allowed but this contract, but it is a contract requirement to reutilize any existing roofing material that complies with Ukrainian regulations after it is removed, cleaned and treated, and stamped and signed by the architect.

Any asbestos containing materials shall be removed by the beneficiary. This contract does not include any asbestos handling or abatement. If any asbestos containing materials are found, the contractor shall notify the beneficiary with a minimum of 45 days advance notice of when these materials would need to be removed. Although the contractor is not responsible to remove the asbestos containing materials, they are responsible to provide safe access to the roof areas in which the asbestos containing materials are found. For this reason, the contractor shall estimate that they will need to provide a certified scaffolding safe access to the roof areas from the exterior of the building. Conceptual definition of roof dormer thermal insulation that would be provided by the application of 8 cm of extruded polystyrene foam on the flat flooring under the roof.

The contractor shall provide a new roof cover in order to provide a 10 year warrantee covering any roof water infiltration.

Design of the new roofing system shall be done to maximize the use of natural light. This means that the contractor shall need to provide a minimum of 2 roof dormers with fully operational PVC windows to close in the winter and to open in the summer.

Provide electrical lighting system.

Design to be prepared by architect/engineer, as required by Ukrainian regulations, and certified by Ukrainian roof expertise, regardless of the requirements of Ukrainian regulations.

These scaffolds shall be installed and used in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. In case the contractor needs to access the façade at any particular point without the need to install scaffolds, the contractor shall use a CE certified self-propelled man-lift, similar to the one shown in pictures below. The use of other type of scaffolds, other non CE certified man-lifts, or any type of ladders for façade or roof work, IS NOT AUTHORIZED. This is applicable for all works in this contract.

In addition to all other previously described safety requirements, for any scaffolding over 3 meters of height, the contractor shall prepare a scaffolding project, to be signed and stamped by a licensed architect or engineer in Ukraine and to be certified by a licensed safety expertise in Ukraine. If this is not required by Ukrainian regulations, it is part of this contract, and consequently no scaffolding shall be installed without this approved and certified project. Additionally, no person shall use the scaffolding until it is certified on site by the expert who approved the project.

Despite the requirements of Ukrainian Law for Fall Protection, any contractor employee working on the roof shall be protected with an approved harness properly tied to an approved lifeline.
