About this file
This is a Statement of Work for gravel crushing and aggregate stockpiling operations at the Anderson Gravel Pit on National Forest Service Lands in Mesa County, Colorado, specifically within the Grand Valley Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests (coordinates: 39.030713° N, -108.111150° W).
The contractor shall provide all equipment and personnel necessary to complete three primary work items: (1) Excavation and Embankment—removing and stockpiling variable overburden soils (potentially exceeding three feet in depth) prior to crushing operations, then spreading overburden evenly across disturbed areas upon completion and seeding in accordance with Forest Service Supplemental Specifications; (2) Drainage—sloping the pit to drain at two to four percent grades toward the lowest elevation, with drainage ditches constructed as necessary to divert water away from stockpiled aggregates; and (3) Crushing—crushing, stockpiling, and testing aggregate materials per FSSS requirements. Additional requirements mandate that all equipment be cleaned of mud, dirt, and organic material prior to entering public lands to prevent noxious weed spread, and fluid leaks must be repaired beforehand. The contractor must establish and maintain a Quality Control Plan acceptable to the government, maintain detailed daily accomplishment records in a maintenance log, and submit these electronically to the Contracting Officer daily. Defective services that cannot be corrected through re-performance may result in government-directed corrective actions or price reduction reflecting diminished service value. A mandatory pre-work meeting shall address site location and conditions, the contractor's schedule and operations plan, government resource protection restrictions, and other relevant items.
