3.5.1. Display system configuration.

3.5.1.1. Detailed list of display system of hardware configuration components and interfaces including identification of make and model and product specifications.

3.5.1.2. Visual system functional block diagram showing all components with labels identifying their names and denoting the functions they perform and all interfaces with labels identifying their characteristics and the parameters and type of data they transfer.

3.5.1.3. Engineering drawings of overall display system configuration.

3.5.1.3.1. Top, side, rear, and front views with dimensions showing the relative location and orientation of display components and eyepoints, including screen center, and all eyepoint locations relative to both easily-referenced vertical and horizontal surfaces, as well as the cockpit floor beneath the seat(s).

3.5.1.3.2. Relative location of components as either measured or constructed.

3.5.1.3.3. Relative angles of projector, screen surface, and eyepoint, including depiction of the field-of-view.

3.5.2. Video transmission.

3.5.2.1. Illustrate the transmission of digital video data through the various subsystems and reference vendor information and test data that supports subsystem interconnection compatibility.

3.5.3. Visual channel performance.

3.5.3.1. Describe and illustrate all performance parameters below to a precision of no less than nine zones per visual channel as seen from each specified eyepoint. State all assumptions (e.g., system MTF).

3.5.3.1.1. Luminance.

3.5.3.1.2. Contrast ratio.

3.5.3.1.3. Surface static and dynamic resolution.

3.5.3.1.4. Geometric accuracy.

3.5.3.1.5. Collimation (if any).

3.5.4. Image warping.

3.5.4.1. List all image warping adjustment parameters.

3.5.4.2. Discuss the adjustment range of all image-warping parameters. Identify any adjustment parameter predicted to be near its limit. Describe user interfaces for image warping from a human factors standpoint including identification of any controls that require the operator to re-interpret adjustment range and direction (e.g., a labeled vertical control is really a horizontal control).

3.5.5. Panel utilization.

3.5.5.1. Describe and illustrate the mapping of the digital projector device native display to the modeled screen surface, including ratio of used/unused pixels, raster/active video shape and panel coverage, and the width and shape of adjacent channel overlap regions. An illustration of each channel's projector display (represented as a flat screen) shall be provided that integrates all of this "pixel usage and efficiency" information as overlays.

3.5.6. Lens data.

3.5.6.1. Report lens data including manufacturer and model, MTF performance limit, lens composition material, and list any available lens application tools.

3.5.7. System geometry alignment.

3.5.7.1. Describe and illustrate the performance and operation of any proposed reference system for geometry alignment and auto-alignment system (if any). Predicted stability of any reference system against variables including but not limited to temperature, static air pressure, vibration, and shock shall be discussed. Identify and describe features and processes designed to maintain and reestablish the alignment of the display system auto-alignment components.

3.5.8. Display system horizontal (i.e., azimuth) origin.
