Project NRS Hubbard Brook Pierce Lab Window Replacement
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
The NRS Hubbard Brook Pierce Lab Window Replacement project shall consist of the removal and legal disposal of eight existing windows, frames, and components on the Pierce Lab. After removal, the work shall also include the installation of new energy efficient vinyl casement windows, frames, and other items associated with a watertight window installation.
There is a bid option (Option A) for replacement of approximately 128 square feet of damaged subfloor sheathing in the conference room of the Pierce Lab building.
There is a bid option (Option B) for the removal of the existing carpeting system in the conference room of the Lab Pierce building and installation of approximately 1700 square feet of new carpet tiles.
2.0 Background
The Hubbard Brook Facility is located at 234 Mirror Lake Rd, North Woodstock, NH 03262. The Pierce Lab building has two sections the original built in 1962 and the extension in 1994. All eight existing wood casement windows are in the 1994 section of the building and are original to that construction. See Attachment “HBEF Window Replacement Reference Drawings” for details on the 1994 construction of the eight windows.
The damaged subfloor feels soft with the suspected cause being water infiltration due to an old doorway that allowed water into the building. The full extent of the damage is unknown.
