STATEMENT OF WORK
MUSEUM INTERPRETIVE EXHIBIT FABRICATION
CHANNEL ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK – ANACAPA ISLAND VISITOR CENTER
I. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
Channel Islands National Park (CHIS) in Ventura County, California encompasses five remarkable islands and their ocean environment, preserving and protecting a wealth of natural and cultural resources. Isolation over thousands of years has created unique animals, plants, and archeological resources found nowhere else on Earth and helped preserve a place where visitors can experience coastal southern California as it once was.
To interpret these park resources, there is a small visitor center on Anacapa Island. This visitor center receives more than 25,000 annual visitors. The exhibit features wall mounted signs and the historic Fresnel lighthouse lens. The wall mounted signs are worn, outdated, and in need of replacement.
As such, CHIS has a requirement for design services to provide overall exhibit fabrication and installation to replace the specific interpretive exhibits at the Anacapa Island Visitor Center.
This requirement includes labor, materials, facilities, and travel necessary to detail, fabricate, and transport new exhibits to the site, remove outdated panels and install replacement exhibit panels in accordance with the specifications as detailed in this statement of work and attachments.
