About this file
This document is an annex providing ordinary maintenance schedules for the electrical system works as part of Project ASHE 20-1068A to repair the MV Flightline Loop (DSN) at Aviano Air Base, Italy.
The annex outlines the minimum frequency and performance level requirements for various preventive maintenance activities on the electrical systems, including the MV switchboard, power/distribution transformers, low voltage switchgear, and power factor correction units. It covers inspections, cleaning, testing, and diagnosis of the electrical equipment and components. The maintenance schedules are specified in yearly intervals over a 10-year period. The document also addresses safety requirements and provides a list of recommended spare parts. This annex is intended to be used in conjunction with the overall project to ensure proper maintenance and continued compliance of the electrical systems at Aviano Air Base.

PREFACE
Electrical systems need regular maintenance to ensure continued compliance with the codes. The instructions included in the next pages provide guidance for operations and maintenance of electrical power and distribution systems existing in the Aviano A.B. substations.
The guidance and standards contained within are the minimum requirements acceptable. The provided guidance does not automatically supersede equipment manufacturers’ instructions and requirements. When conflicts exist, the most rigorous requirement must be followed.
SAFETY
All the electrical workers must be thoroughly trained and be familiar with the equipment and procedures to be followed. Properly trained electric workers will be certified in accordance with applicable publications.
Maintenance must be performed in compliance with the requirements of:
- Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
- D.Lgs 81/08
