Request for Proposal (RFP) R2 Regional IDIQ Vegetation Mapping Updates Contract

Request for a Proposal for IDIQ Task Order #1 on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest 5/13/21

1.0 SCOPE: The Natural Resource Manager (NRM) FSVeg Spatial database provides baseline spatial vegetation information critical for land management decisions. This database must be continually updated to ensure it reflects current vegetation on the ground. However, the frequency and scale of landscape disturbances such as fire and insects, have outpaced Region 2’s ability to maintain the database, leaving millions of acres in need of updates.

The scope of the work is to re-attribute FSVeg Spatial polygons on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest that no longer represent current conditions on the ground using current imagery and ancillary field data.

Some of the acres (5,147 acres) will also be de-lineated.

Areas to be updated total 104,045 acres and include:

- NFS lands on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest affected by multiple fires from 2013-2019 o 92,575 acres of re-attribution

- NFS lands affected by the 2016 Broadway, Snake, and Silver Creek fires o 5,147 acres of re-delineation and re-attribution

- NFS land affected by harvests from 2016-2019 o 6,323 acres of re-attribution
