BUILDING 1185 BLAST BOOTH REMOVAL

Requirements Document

For

704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron

19 April 2024

1.0 PURPOSE

The 846 TS’s primary test capability is the Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) where rocket powered sled trains are utilized to simulate flight-like environments and scenarios with the control and recovery of a ground-based system. As part of its manufacturing processes, the 846 TS operates a 5000sf Heat Treating facility (building 1185) to process materials to produce complex rocket sleds, test track hardware and test articles for “Research & Development customers in direct support of the “National Defense Strategy” and the US “War Fighter”.

In May of 2022, there was an accidental fire that destroyed this vital asset. Recently, 49CONs has contracted building 1185 to be cleaned and restored. However, one damaged equipment item remains in the facility that has halted the project, a large shot blasting booth. This blast booth is too large to remove by 846TS personnel. They do not have the labor or specialized equipment needed to safely remove and dispose of the blast booth.

2.0 SCOPE

The Contractor shall:

2.1 Dismantle, remove, and dispose of one (1) Clemco blast booth, model 1431-r, manufactured in 1977. The extents of the blast room inside bldg. 1185 are: 22’ long X 20’ wide X 12’ high.

2.2 Remove and dispose of one (1) outside dust collection silo - no manufacturer listed, located on the south side of building 1185. The extents of the dust collection system outside the bldg. are: 15’ wide X 9’ deep X 14’ high. The dimensions of the dust collector include the motor.

2.3 Remove and dispose of all associated duct work connecting the blast booth and dust collector both inside and outside building 1185, and clean work site.

3.0 MILESTONES

3.1 The Contractor’s period of performance will be 21 days from the date of award of the basic contract. Inspection of worksite will be conducted by 846 TS personnel prior to contract completion. Any delays must be immediately communicated to the customer.

4.0 DELIVERABLES

4.1 The vendor shall coordinate all action with William Reynolds at (575) 572-8989.
