About this file

This is a Design/Bid/Build Scope of Work document for the Arriba Rest Area Remodel project, issued by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) on March 13, 2024. The project involves a comprehensive remodel of an existing rest area located on the I-70 Frontage Road in Arriba, Colorado, with a focus on replacing all finishes, fixtures, and updating plumbing and electrical systems to current codes. The scope of work includes demolition of existing restroom facilities, installation of new water closets, urinals, sinks, floor and wall tiles, painting, and structural remedies. A minor structural fix is required for a small exterior portion of the CMU structure, and a new domestic water line will be installed to serve the annex restrooms.

The project requires contractors to obtain permits from the State Plumbing and Electrical Inspector, with CDOT covering one final building inspection by a state-approved code inspector. Environmental testing has been conducted, with all samples testing non-detect for asbestos and lead. The project documents will be distributed at a mandatory pre-bid meeting, and contractors are advised to carefully review all drawings and specifications. The scope of work is comprehensive, covering demolition, architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, and lighting aspects of the rest area remodel, with specific attention to detail in replacing and upgrading various building components and systems.
