About this file
This document is Addendum #1 for the Arriba Rest Area Remodel project (Project #25422) issued by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) on 07/17/2024. The addendum provides critical bidding information, including electronic bid submission requirements through CDOT's BidNet Procurement Website, with electronic bids due on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 2 PM Mountain Time. Key project clarifications include the removal of exterior lighting from the contractor's scope of work and a note that a forthcoming Addendum #2 will address structural questions about interior walls. Bidders must register on the BidNet website and can observe the bid opening via a Google Meet link.
The addendum specifies several important contractual and bonding requirements, noting that a Bid Bond is mandatory for projects over $50,000, and Performance and Labor/Material Bonds will be required since the estimated project cost exceeds $150,000. The project involves remodeling restrooms and lobby areas, including replacing finishes, fixtures, and updating plumbing and electrical systems to current codes. Contractors are instructed to ensure all subcontractors and suppliers receive a copy of the addendum and acknowledge its receipt on the bid form. Technical details include replacing the existing hot water line to the annex building, which was determined to be incorrectly sized and must be fully replaced.
