About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) is for the procurement of the AN/APX-119 Avionics Identification Friend of Foe (IFF) Transponder for C-130J aircraft. The government is conducting market research to identify potential sources with the expertise and capabilities to manufacture 217 units over a two-year contract through FY27. The requirement aims to upgrade aircraft to meet AMC 22-042 requirements and mitigate diminishing manufacturing sources for the legacy IFF Transponder.
Potential contractors must respond to the capability survey by December 1, 2025, addressing detailed questions about their manufacturing capabilities, engineering services, quality assurance processes, and technical expertise. The survey covers topics including facility capabilities, past project experience, manufacturing procedures, configuration management, and ability to address technical challenges. The government has designated this as a commercial item and encourages participation from both large and small businesses, including those with specific small business certifications. Responses should be submitted via email to the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) Ms. Erica Carter and Program Manager Capt Austin Roberts.
