About this file

This document is an Appendix E Geologist Bid Form for the Mission Ridge Geologic Report, issued by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) in collaboration with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The project involves preparing a geologic report to identify rule-identified landforms (RILs) within a proposed commercial thinning logging project area, which encompasses approximately 83 acres of timber harvest and 1,986 linear feet of new/reconstructed logging roads, including 346 feet on USFS ownership. The contractor is required to produce a comprehensive geologic report that includes a map of RIL boundaries, a narrative describing identification methods, and shapefiles detailing the RIL locations that may impact the proposed project.

The bid form provides a structured pricing template for potential contractors to submit their proposed costs across four key deliverables: desktop review, pedestrian site survey, project map/shapefile development, and final project report compilation. WDFW will evaluate the total pricing as part of the bid assessment criteria, with contractors expected to specify individual and total bid amounts. The document requires bidders to provide complete company information, including name, address, contact details, and an authorized representative's signature, demonstrating a formal procurement process for selecting a qualified geological consulting firm to conduct the environmental assessment.

MSSION RIDGE GEOLOGY REPORT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BID PROPOSAL

1. Project Purpose

Contractor shall prepare a geologic report that identifies any possible rule identified landforms (RIL’s) as described in the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Forest Practice Eastside Forest Practice Manuel. This will include roads and unit boundaries within the proposed Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Mission Ridge Thinning Project. This project will include commercial thinning logging operations and new construction/re-construction of logging roads. The proposed project includes approximately 83 acres of timber harvest and approximately 1,986’ of new road construction, including approximately 346’ of new construction on USFS ownership.

Additional existing roads, as shown on the project road map, will also be used.

The geologist report shall include a map of RIL’s (if any) within or adjacent to unit boundaries and roads. The report narrative shall include the strategy and/or methods used identify RIL’s. Contractor shall also submit a shapefile to WDFW that includes all RIL’s that will impact the proposed project.

2. Proposal

In your proposal, tell us how you will plan to complete the report that will include:

1. A geologic map of identified RIL boundaries.

2. A short narrative describing methods used to determine said boundaries.

3. Shapefiles that will be used to identify boundaries in the field.

Please also tell us:

1. What type of equipment will be used to produce a geologic map.

2. What methods will be used to determine RIL boundaries. A shapefile will be required for each RIL.

3. Your proposed project timeline, including a Gantt chart (or comparable visual aide).

(See Appendix C project area maps).
