About this file

This document is a state contract opportunity from the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) to create a pool of qualified Housing Search Entities (HSEs) to perform housing search tasks for adults with disabilities and elders served by various MRC programs, including the Money Follows the Person (MFP-Demo) Demonstration grant, the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Moving Forward Plan (MFP) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers, and other MRC state-funded programs. The housing search tasks to be performed by the HSEs are outlined in detail beginning on page 9 of the document. The state is seeking responses from interested parties, but the document does not specify a due date or award date for this opportunity.

The document does not provide specifics on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or amounts, or other salient commercial details. It appears to be a general solicitation to establish a pool of qualified HSE service providers to assist the MRC with its various housing programs for adults with disabilities and elders in the state of Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Housing Choice Voucher Centralized Waiting List: The Massachusetts Section 8 Centralized Waiting List is a partnership of 103 Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which streamlines the application process for a Federal Mobile Section 8 Voucher. If you receive a voucher in Massachusetts, you can use it anywhere.

Applicants submit one application to the centralized waiting list system, operated by Affordable Housing. The application is automatically added to the waiting list for all 103 participating PHAs (Public Housign Authorities). Each participating PHA selects participants to their Section 8 Voucher program off of the centralized waiting list in accordance with their local policy.

To start the application process, follow this link: https://www.affordablehousing.com/masscwl On the left-hand side are two links.

One to start an application and one to update an application. If starting an application an online/email account must be set up

Once in the site there is a section to update applications and scroll down further and a complete list of participating housing authorities.

Followed by a section with frequently asked questions including updating changes to application.

Call 866-466-7328 if further questions.

Best practice to check participant’s account at least quarterly as the website post requests for information, documents to account. Failure to respond may result in removal from wait lists.

Most Mass Public Housign Authorities are linked to this site. The site shows which PHA’s have open wait lists. Can apply directly to these PHA’s from this site.
