AMENDMENT

Amendment Number: 4
Bid Event Number: EVT0010082
Closing Date: January 28, 2025, 2:00 PM
Procurement Officer: Ashley Evans Telephone: 1-785-296-8107 E-Mail Address: Ashley.N.Evans@ks.gov
Agency: Osawatomie State Hospital
Item: Biddle Building Interior Courtyard Renovation
Conditions: Final Questions and Answers
Q1. On sheet L100 There are Notes that require items in the Sod Installation that would be in conflict with the owner taking possession of the Sod installation immediately after the installation and acceptance of the sod.
Does the following apply as the Landscaper is not watering the trees after the initial planting?
A1. Plant supplier should provide a 1 year warrantee and replacement at 1 year if plant is not in good/growing condition
Q2. Note 13 - The Note 13 requires the Sod installer to return to the site and perform additional work at
Month 1 & Month 2.
A2. Highlighted portion does not apply mailto:Ashley.N.Evans@ks.gov
Amendment 3 Event ID: EVT0010082
Q3. Note #18 – Remove Note #18 as there is no Irrigation System.
A3. Note does not apply as there is not irrigation system installation required.
Q4. The Section of the concrete paving on Sheet C400 calls for 4” concrete over 4” of Type 1 Aggregate Base.
Would it be possible to increase the concrete thickness to 6” concrete and place the concrete directly on the compacted existing subgrade? If not 6” is there a thickness of concrete that would be acceptable.
Could this be an alternate bid paving method for this project?
A4. 6” concrete on compacted subgrade is a suitable alternative to 4” concrete on 4” Type 1 Aggregate
Q5. On Sheet C400 there is a section of the concrete that calls for a ¼” deep sawcut to be filled with sealant.
Can you please provide the location of these sawcut joints on the plan?
A5. The Sawcut joints with sealant are a part of our standard detail – but are only on an ‘as needed’ basis, no
KNOWN locations on site plan.
Q6. Are you aware if there's an existing fire alarm system that the external Audio and Visual Fire Alarms (Avs) will tie into? If so, how long is the place we will need to tie into?
A6. There is an existing system. It is a Notifier system. Please see the attached image for the location.
