About this file

This document is an amendment to Attachment A of a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) for electrolysis services to incarcerated individuals. The RFI seeks vendors who can provide pre-operative electrolysis of the genital area for male-to-female patients, with a focus on vendors who are members of the Washington State Electrologist Association, certified through the American Electrology Association or Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal, or have completed Stephanie Shields' training program. Vendors are asked to describe their experience providing care for different types of bottom surgery procedures, such as vaginoplasty and phalloplasty. The DOC prefers on-site services at their facilities, but may consider off-site services within 50 miles. Vendors must provide details on their treatment plans, equipment, availability, and pricing structures.

The RFI indicates that the DOC anticipates serving 10-25 individuals per year and is committed to ensuring the necessary supplies and equipment are available for effective on-site electrolysis treatments. Vendors must demonstrate their ability to accommodate the anticipated volume of services, as well as their willingness to use the DOC's provided equipment and supplies. Pricing information should include hourly rates, per treatment costs, and any additional charges related to the provision of services.
