About this file
This document is an Amendment to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service (DNR) for Technical Assistance in Forestry Management & Certification of Maryland's State Forests. The RFP seeks the services of a Land Management Contractor to provide technical forest management and forestry assistance for the Chesapeake Forest and Pocomoke State Forest, which comprise a combined 94,252 acres across several Maryland counties. This Amendment updates the Insurance Requirements in Section 3.6 and removes Section 3.5.1 regarding Disaster Recovery. The current contract expires on August 31, 2023, and the new contractor will work with the incumbent to ensure a smooth transition of ongoing operations.
The RFP outlines the history of the current activities, which have been under a Land Management contract since 2002. The successful bidder will be responsible for the sale of forest products, implementation of silvicultural activities and cultural treatments, and adherence to Certification protocols on the state forest lands. This is a multi-year contract with the potential for renewal options.
