About this file
This is an Amendment #1 Feature Work List for the PKAA BPMD Plus Project in Colorado, detailing mine opening closure work specifications and requirements. The project encompasses seven distinct features involving the installation of safety closures at abandoned mine adits and openings across multiple locations identified by UTM coordinates. Work includes the installation of bulkheads with bat grates, adit doors with bat grates, corrugated steel pipe (CSP) closures, and associated structural components such as steel beams, rebar, and timber repairs. Features range from simple bulkhead repairs to complex adit door installations with double swinging doors and specialized safety mechanisms. Site conditions vary significantly, with some locations accessible by vehicle and others requiring helicopter access or extensive hiking with substantial elevation gains of up to 1,100 vertical feet. The document specifies standard drawings, drainage considerations, lining materials (rock or timber), and estimated depths ranging from 25 feet to over 1,000 feet.
Specific work requirements include fabrication and installation of safety closures designed to allow water passage while preventing unauthorized access and wildlife disturbance, with particular attention to bat grate installations. Several features involve maintenance work on existing damaged bulkheads requiring repair sections and additional protective layers. The project requires contractors to manage water sourcing at remote sites, provide air monitoring equipment where hazardous conditions are noted, and restore road conditions to pre-construction specifications. Equipment access varies by location, with some sites requiring only walk-in access with significant vertical elevation challenges, necessitating helicopter access recommendations for certain features. No pricing information, contract term, bid deadline, award date, or set-aside provisions are specified in this feature work list amendment.
