Summary of Feature Work List for PKAA BPMD Plus Project, Colorado

This Feature Work List document outlines mine opening closure work for the PKAA BPMD Plus Project in Colorado, detailing six separate adit (mine entrance) features requiring safety closures and rehabilitation. The work encompasses installing bat grates, bulkheads, adit doors, and corrugated steel pipe closures across multiple mine sites, with work descriptions varying from new installations (Feature 268-23) to maintenance repairs (Features 268-15 and 268-26). Each feature includes specific excavation dimensions, depth measurements, lining materials, drainage requirements, closure methods, standard specifications referencing SWS drawings, UTM coordinates, and detailed work notes. The projects range in scope from simple bulkhead repairs requiring 2-foot additions to complex installations involving double swinging doors with steel I-beams, rebar, and timber replacement. Access conditions vary significantly across sites, with some features accessible by vehicle via county roads and others requiring walk-in access of up to one mile with elevation gains exceeding 1,100 vertical feet; helicopter access is recommended for the most remote locations.

The Feature Work List specifies technical requirements including water management provisions, material sourcing constraints, environmental considerations such as air quality monitoring, and site restoration obligations. Notable requirements include utilizing on-site water sources for cement mixing where available, hauling water to sites without adequate supply, assembling modular components for field delivery, and restoring roads to pre-construction conditions upon completion. Several features present challenging working conditions, such as Feature 3's requirement for an air meter due to historical "bad air" concerns and Feature 5's rough stream crossing requiring road improvement. Bidders must reference standard specifications and drawings (SWS 10, 12, 14) and comply with specific installation details such as keying steel beams into timber sets, welding rebar at precise intervals, and installing access doors with functioning locking mechanisms to allow water passage while maintaining structural integrity.

3ft diameter, 15ft long CSP with Bat Grate and an Access Door. CSP can be assembled in sections for delivery and installation. Pour 5 CY of Polyurethane Foam (PUF) around the CSP. Place rocks in the final PUF lift at the surface when the PUF is tacky and will hold rocks in place. Backfill the final 3 feet of the CSP with on-site fill material. Old Sign at the portal says

“bad air” so an air meter will be required while working underground. No equipment access. 1 mile walk with 1,100 vertical feet elevation gain on a trail that starts at the Anglo Saxon Mine. Helicopter Access suggested.
