Site Visit Information

General Information: Please expect rugged walking conditions, bright sun and possible wind. Bring water, snacks/food, and protective clothing (hats, hiking shoes, gloves, sunglasses, etc.). Business casual not recommended, nor expected. Vehicle or personal GPS advised. Cellular service may be sporadic or non-existent in some areas!

IMPORTANT: Please take notes at the site visit as a “Technical Approach” Evaluation Factor for award will include, “The results concluded from the site visit”.

Camp 16 Site Visit:

28 March 2017

Meet at the intersection of Angeles Forest Highway (N3) and 3N17 at Millcreek summit @0830.

From Palmdale on the Antelope Valley Freeway, exit at Angeles Forest Highway on Fwy 14 in Palmdale, and drive south on the N3 approximately 8 to 10 miles to intersection with 3N17 aka “Mt Gleason Rd”, at Mill Creek Summit.

The entrance will be on your right.

From Los Angeles, take the I-210 north from Pasadena towards La Canada Flintridge. Exit Angeles Crest Highway north on I-210, and travel north approximately 10 miles to intersection with Angeles Forest Highway (N3). Turn left on Angeles Forest Highway and travel north approximately 15 miles to intersection with 3N17, at Mill Creek Summit.

The entrance will be on your left.

Upon arrival at Mill Creek Summit, drive west on 3N17 for approximately 5 miles to site location. There is a gate at the entrance to 3N17. The Gate will be opened at 8:30 am, and will be left closed but unlocked for anyone coming later than 8:30. Please close gate behind you (but do not lock).
