Text version

Q: Will there be a pre-bid meeting?

A: No

Q: Is bonding required?

A: Bonds will not be required.

Q: Is response by mail only?

A: No. Fedbizopps response is preferred, followed by Email (as an attachment) and then fax or mail if for some reason you can't use the first two methods

Q: How can we view the roads?

A: Via Google Earth. Gates are locked at most locations due to weather conditions

Q: Will the response date be revised?

A: Yes, new response date and time, 2/5/10 at 2 pm

Q: Are there contacts at each of the counties who we can talk to?

A: No. Main contact person is Katherine Worn at 805-961-5709

Q: Is there a need for helicopter use?

A: No

Q: What is different about the clauses for this project?

A: This is a Recovery (ARRA) Project and clauses 52.203-15 and 52.204-11 apply which involve whistleblower protections and special mandatory reporting requirements. You can go to federalreporting.gov for more information on reporting

Q: On the schedule of items there is a line that says, "Logging Out, Slash Treatment A" 3 each. What does this mean?

A: This refers to the number of loads which may have to be hauled to a disposal site. We expect no more than 3 loads and in many cases we expect that no loads will have to be hauled.

Q: I have a tracked hydraulic masticator with a 25-foot reach; can I get it onto all the roads?

A: No. See Spec 841-1, you cannot use tracked equipment, "with either rubber tires, rubber tracked or street pads."

Q: What is the diameter limit for trees to be cut?

A: Trees that are greater than 6-inches in diameter will be marked by the inspector if they are to be removed.
