Questions and Answers AG-82BH-S-11-0019 Rampart Range Road Maintenance
1. Is there an approximate number of culverts that can be anticipated/listed? Approx. 7 to 10 per mile.
1. It appears that the schedule and start dates for each section of road are strategically spaced out for maintenance purposes. Are these dates firm? (This will effect mobility planning and costs) Rampart Range Dates are to be as listed in the contract. They are very specific. South Park schedule gives a broad range and is more open. A schedule, within given dates will be required from the contractor once awarded.
1. Water quantity listed is 1500 gallons. This appears to be greatly underestimated. For example, last year we resurfaced approx. 3-4 miles of level 3 Forest Service roads and used approx. 20,000 gallons of water for compaction purposes. Granted it was new surfacing material and the purpose was compaction but even if it was only for dust control purposes, 1500 gallons wouldn’t make it very far at all (that is not even half capacity of one tank of our 4,000 gallon water truck). Can you confirm quantity is 1500 gallons? This is correct.
