RFIs Solicitation AG-6395-S-17-0092

Construct New Maintenance Shop & Industrial Facility

- Reference C-703 Temporary Fence Detail. Are we required to install temporary fence around the stockpile area? If so, is it necessary to install this detail, which is very heavy and expensive for a temporary fence detail.

The attached alternate temporary fencing may be used for the project. Temporary fencing shall be installed as indicated on the plans. The stock pile area is not required to have separate temporary fencing, but is required to have silt fence installed as indicated on the plans.

- According to the Sheet S-001 of the structural drawings, support for the shallow spread and strip footings and the water storage tank foundations is required. It appears that the column and wall footings have been designed for 5,000 psf. In addition to providing the required bearing capacity, the Geopier system utilizes a settlement based design, in which actual column and wall loads are necessary. It is with this understanding that we ask that the actual loading for areas requiring Geopier support (i.e., kips for column footings, and kips/ft for wall footings and psf for slab, and/or and loading diagrams for retaining walls).

Per Structural Drawing Sheet S-001 Section B.2 – “…RAMMED AGGREGATE PIERS SHALL BE

DESIGNED TO PROVIDE SHALLOW FOUNDATIONS WITH AN ALLOWABLE SOIL BEARING

PRESSURE OF 5,000 PSF AND SHALL BE DESIGNED ASSUMING COLUMN/WALL LOAD IS 5,000 PSF

MULTIPLIED BY THE AREA/WIDTH OF THE FOOTING.”

- The specified projection screen is 48” x 64”. This screen size is 4:3, which we have not been able to source. Most projectors today are 16:10. Please confirm an appropriately sized 16:10 screen is acceptable.

The screen size specified is minimum in each direction. A 16:10 ratio screen is acceptable.
