Sections
1.4 DEFINITIONS
A. LEED Rating System: LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations
B. LEED Credit: LEED Rating System component. Compliance with LEED Credits is optional within the LEED Rating System and meeting credit criteria results in the earning of points toward certification. The design team has preselected LEED credits for the project that the Contractor is expected to adhere to in order to achieve the desired level of LEED certification for the LEED portion of this project.
C. LEED Design Phase Review: The first phase of the split LEED review process that enables project teams to assess the likelihood of achievement for some or all design3phase credits and/or prerequisites, prior to substantial project completion. All remaining requirements are then submitted with the Construction Application.
D. LEED Construction Phase Review: The second phase of the split LEED review process that must occur after the project team has accepted the results of the Design Review as final. It includes payment of the Construction Review fee; confirmation that the construction process has not affected the project's eligibility for all previously reviewed design phase prerequisites and credits; includes completed documentation for all prerequisites and at least the minimum number of credits required to achieve certification; and includes completed general project information forms.
E. LEED Prerequisite: A required LEED Green Building Rating System component whose achievement is mandatory and does not earn any points. Failure to achieve any one of the
LEED Prerequisites will result in failure to achieve LEED certification.
F. LEED Project Boundary: The LEED project boundary is the portion of the project site submitted for LEED certification. For single building developments, this is the entire project scope and is generally limited to the site boundary. For multiple building developments, the LEED project boundary may be a portion of the development as determined by the project team.
G. Required: Achievement of this credit is essential for certification of this project.
H. Preferred: Achievement of this credit would be desirable but is not mandatory.
I. Not Required: Achievement of this credit is not expected or not possible for this project.
J. To Be Provided: Provided via one or more construction contracts.
