About this file
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) document from Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) soliciting architectural design services for continually contracted projects valued at no more than $7.5 million each. The district seeks to select multiple qualified architectural firms through a competitive procurement process for fiscal year 2025-2026, with firms providing comprehensive architectural services including design studies, design phases, and construction administration. Interested firms must submit qualifications through the VendorLink portal by May 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, with submittals not exceeding 20 pages. The contract will be an initial one-year agreement with potential one-year extensions, and the School Board intends to rotate project assignments among selected firms based on project urgency, workload, firm experience, and past performance.
The procurement follows the 2025 Design Services Request for Qualifications Selection Process Manual, with firms required to provide proof of licensure, insurance, bondability, and professional references. Compensation will be based on hourly rates determined by the School Board to be fair and competitive, with minimum insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for professional liability, general liability, and auto insurance. The selection committee will evaluate submissions considering project experience (70 points maximum), project team capabilities (20 points maximum), office location (10 points maximum), and minority/woman-owned business certification (5 points). Firms must be licensed to practice in Florida and registered with the Department of State Division of Corporations, with the district reserving the right to reject any or all submissions and retaining all submitted materials.
