About this file

This document is a Technical Description for the Acquisition Due-In System (ADIS) and Contracting Information Database System (CIDS), prepared by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). The document provides detailed technical specifications for two interconnected logistics business systems supporting the Air Force acquisition process.

ADIS (J041) is a 50-year-old system running on an IBM mainframe z/OS platform, with approximately 500,000 lines of code and 153 IDEAL screens, serving around 3,000 concurrent users across Air Logistics Complexes (ALCs). The system manages centrally procured item information from purchase request initiation through contract lifecycle, maintaining historical data on stock-numbered items. CIDS (J018R) complements ADIS by providing an online ad-hoc query solution with a desktop client application and Oracle relational database, enabling item managers and buyers to review contract data from various sources including MOCAS, Wide Area Work Flow, and other procurement systems. Both systems are financial feeder systems subject to annual Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) reviews, and utilize Continuous Capability Delivery (CCD) for sustainment.
