6. Bidders Questions:

6.1. Question: On C301 is the footprint of the dumpster. What is the height? What are the reinforcement specs? What will the cap be? Metal? Brick? Stone?

Answer: Updated detail is provided per sheet C301.

6.2. Question: Can dry damp cast stone be used instead of architectural precast concrete?

Answer: No, Dry Cast can not be used as it is a more porous material and this product will be in direct contact with grade.

6.3. Question: Which brick is to be used on the High Bay building?

Answer: Per spec Basis of Design Light Brick - Modular No. 8530 23-30, Belden Brick Company (The).

6.4. Question: Architectural details call for self-adhering membrane thru-wall flashing. Are there any specs for this flashing?

Answer: Thru-Wall Flashing is per Unit Masonry specification 042000 2.10 Embedded Flashing.

Self- adhering membrane flashing with termination bar, is for the transition from the through flashing to the Fluid Applied Air barrier: Butyl Rubber Flashing: Composite, self-adhesive, flashing product consisting of a pliable, butyl rubber compound, bonded to a high-density polyethylene film, aluminum foil, or spunbonded polyolefin to produce an overall thickness of not less than 40 mil.

6.5. Question: Please verify if finish to be dark bronze anodized or black anodized for the aluminum entrances and storefronts. Specifications 084113 Aluminum Framed Entrances and Storefront and 084413 Glazed Aluminum Curtain Walls call out for Black anodized but sheet A.A1001 calls out for the finish to be dark bronze anodized.

Addendum 2 Page 6 of 13

Answer: All Curtain Wall and Storefront to have a black anodized finish.

6.6. Question: Please verify if aluminum storefront door 101A is to have an automatic operator. Door Schedule on sheet A.A1000 calls for a power door operator in the remarks column but is not listed in the hardware schedule to have one.

Answer: Yes, door 101A and 101B are to have a power operator.

6.7. Question: Please verify if aluminum door frames for wood doors need to use same Kawneer AA 425 framing for 2 ¼” doors or for standard 1 ¾” doors.

Answer: Where wood doors are called out for in a Storefront frame, Frame to accommodate standard 1 ¾” wood door.

6.8. Question: Drawing A.S201 shows a “Wall Footing Schedule”. The reinforcing comment says to check the cut sections on drawings A.S301, A.S302, & A.S303 for reinforcing details. These cut sections do not show the transverse, continuous, or dowel reinforcing details. Please advise. I noticed that this was the case in all the drawings, and that rebar details are not shown for footings anywhere.

Please advise. Please also reference Section M on Drawing A.S303 as an example of not having rebar details for the retaining wall footings.

Answer: See related Structural Addendum drawing revisions. These details were updated and a new detail has been added for site retaining wall foundations and reinforcing.

6.9. Question: In the Unit Masonry 42000 Submittals 1.6/A./ QUALITY ASSURANCE Qualifications: 1. 2.

Installers: All masonry flashing installers must complete the International Masonry Institute Flashing Upgrade training course. Will this be required of the masonry contractor?

Answer: This will not be required of the masonry contractor. Masonry superintendent shall have minimum 10 years of commercial masonry experience.

6.10. Question: Addendum #1- 1.2.1 Provide controls allowance of $649,830.00 for JCI System. Is this for both bid packs or is it per each. We have to bid each bid pack separately, so if it is for both we need it broken out per bid pack, or you guys can just list it supplied by the owner.

Answer: Controls allowance to be include Bid Pack A pricing.

6.11. Question: Is this a Davis bacon act job? If so, can we get the pay scale documents?

Answer: Davis Bacon and Pre-vailing wage rates are not required on this project.

6.12. Question: Coal slurry removal / replacement -The geotechnical report repeatedly states coal slurry is unsuitable for engineered fill. Can you confirm the project intent: are we to over-excavate all identified coal slurry zones and replace them with compacted engineered fill (per AEI recommendations)?

Answer: No coal slurry is intended to be over-excavated. The geotechnical report addendum dated November 3, 2025 states that Dynamic Compaction will be utilized to densify the underlying

Addendum 2 Page 7 of 13 mine spoil. The spoil section densified by Dynamic Compaction will be considered to meet the minimum 15’ engineered fill requirement. All fill placed above the areas densified by Dynamic Compaction shall also be engineered fill.

6.13. Question: Basis for “15 ft minimum engineered fill” and reference elevation

AEI’s report calls for a minimum of 15 ft of engineered fill below the finish floor elevation and references excavation down to elevation 394 ft (for an assumed finished floor of 411 ft). There is some ambiguity with these design elevations. Please clarify:

6.13.1. If using AEI’s example (FFE = 411.0), AEI’s excavation to elevation 394.0 corresponds to

411.00 − 394.00 = 17.00 ft of removal. If the requirement is 15.0 ft of engineered fill, that would imply excavation to 411.00 − 15.00 = 396.00 ft. Which of these targets (or another) is the intended design basis?

6.13.2. For the High Bay building (current FFE = 407.54 ft), please confirm the excavation elevation you want:

6.13.2.1. If we adopt AEI’s stated target elevation 394.0 ft, the removal depth relative to High

Bay FFE is 407.54 − 394.00 = 13.54 ft; OR

6.13.2.2. If you require the same absolute removal depth used in AEI’s example (17.0 ft below the assumed 411.0 FFE), then High Bay would need excavation to 407.54 − 17.00 =

390.54 ft; OR

6.13.2.3. If the EOR intends the AEI minimum of 15.0 ft of engineered fill, the High Bay excavation would target 407.54 − 15.00 = 392.54 ft. Please confirm which target

(reference elevation + required engineered-fill thickness) we should use for each building.

Answer: No over excavation of building pads will occur beyond clearing and grubbing. The geotechnical report addendum dated November 3, 2025 states that Dynamic Compaction will be utilized to densify the underlying mine spoil. The spoil section densified by Dynamic Compaction will be considered to meet the minimum 15’ engineered fill requirement. All fill placed above the areas densified by Dynamic Compaction shall also be engineered fill.

6.14. Question: Disposal / handling of excavated coal slurry. What are the EOR/owner’s expectations for management and disposal of excavated coal slurry? (on-site stockpile for later isolation, off-site disposal, or reuse restrictions). Any environmental testing/manifesting required?

Answer: No Coal Slurry will be excavated.

6.15. Question: Please confirm whether on-site mine spoil is acceptable for use as engineered fill, and identify any restrictions, testing requirements, or exclusions (e.g., coal slurry) we must follow.

Answer: This item is addressed clearly in item 7.4 of the Geotechnical Report.

6.16. Question: Is the “reclaimed topsoil / reclaimed soil” encountered and noted on the boring logs acceptable to reuse as planting topsoil for turf and landscape areas, or is imported topsoil required?

Addendum 2 Page 8 of 13

Answer: Soil present on site that is free of rock and coal fines may be utilized as growth medium when properly amened. It is the responsibility of the contractor to provide adequate topsoil either preserved from the site or imported.

6.17. Question: Who is responsible for topsoil testing and approval (owner’s consultant, EOR, or contractor)?

Answer: The contractor is responsible for testing topsoil and submitting results to the design team for approval prior to placement.

6.18. Question: The brick specification is a modular brick at 2.6 C, 1; but 2.6 C, 4 gives the size of a utility brick. Which should it be?

Answer: Brick Masonry is to be utility size

6.19. Question: I see the ballistic door & frame specification, but do not see those specifications on the door schedule. Should it be?

Answer: Doors 101A and 101B in the door schedule are noted in remarks as being Ballistic.

Interior storefront elevations A12-1& A12-1B on sheet A.A1001 are noted as IG-3 Ballistic Glass.

6.20. Question: I see in the specs it is calling for UL 752 level 7. It also calls out insulated, low e, tints, and reflective. What all is necessary for the (2) elevations listing glass type IG-3?

Answer: Originally we were bullet proofing the whole (interior and exterior walls) of the vestibule that is why we had the thermally broken system originally in the spec. Please see the updated specs above regarding 085659- BULLET RESISTANT OPENINGS and 088853- SECURITY GLAZING

6.21. Question: Are the combo racks, jungle gyms & other items in Room 101A of the High Bay

Building OFOI?

Answer: Yes, exercise equipment shown are owner furnished and installed items.

6.22. Question: Is the clearing station in Keyed Floor Plan Note 9 of the high bay building the

'clearing trap' set forth in spec 116723?

Answer: Yes.

6.23. Question: What are the Frisk Circles- Keyed Floor Plan Note 11, Sheet B.A101A?

Answer: Painted lines on the floor

6.24. Question: The Finish & Material Legend on Sheet B.A1100 references WSP1. I do not see it in the specs or drawings.

Answer: Refer to sheet B.A101A Key Floor plan note 3 for location of WSP1. WSP1 limits are also shown on sheet B.A1100 per note 3. WSP1 can be found in specification 116623 – Gymnasium Equipment.

6.25. Question: On the wall type 962A-SB- what is the SB?

Addendum 2 Page 9 of 13

Answer: It stands for sound barrier the SB wall type incudes a sound isolation membrane and sound attenuation batts.

6.26. Question: AWP2 is listed as Owner provided on B.A1100, but not on A.A1100. Is it owner supplied?

Answer: In the High bay building it is owner supplied, in the classroom building it is not.

6.27. Question: Rulon's blade thickness is 3/4" versus Armstrong BOD @ 1/2". Rulon will not manufacture a blade thickness less than 5/8" due to wood movement/failure. Rulon could quote this scope as a solid Poplar, using a 3/4" blade thickness. If quoted in this manner, it would alter the O.C. spacing between blades. Does the design team see an issue concerning lighting or other MEP specification conflicts with this approach?

Answer: If the Rulon product can meet all of the other requirements of the specifications and drawings, design intent, ease of access to above the grid, and accommodate specified light fixtures then difference in manufacturer and blade thickness would be acceptable.

6.28. Question: It appears that a voice system is desired. However, the fire alarm plans show different symbols than those that represent speakers and speaker/strobes in the device legend.

Please confirm if the intent is for a mass notification system instead of a horn system.

Answer: Speaker/Strobes is the intent, revised on sheets A-E0-00, B-E0-00

6.29. Question: Do the new panels need to be interconnected? If so, via what means? Network, dry-contact relays, BAS, etc?

Answer: Panels to be interconnected in a “true loop” with single mode fiber 9/125UM
