ADDENDUM NO. 1 (of 1)

TO THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

FOR THE

Olean Creek Levee Reconstruction And Sewer Replacement City of Olean, NY 14760 July 2, 2024 PAGE 1 of 1

TO: ALL HOLDERS OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

a. Your attention is directed to the following interpretations of, changes in, and additions to the Contract Specifications and Plans for the above named project.

b. This Addendum is part of the Contract Documents and Plans, and the bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided below.

This addendum includes the following:

1. Preliminary Review Comments & Changes Design drawings now include comments from USACE for clarification with appropriate additions from McMahon & Mann Engineering. (Attached)

2. Pre-bid Meeting Q&A Question: Please provide a mechanism to estimate the weight of potentially contaminated soil that requires disposal.

Answer: We have assumed that the soil in the trench excavation requires disposal at a solid waste facility. As shown on Sheet 2 of 7, Item No. 312323-4.3 includes 30 cubic yards (= 810 cubic feet) of material to be disposed. For bid preparation purposes, the contractors may assume that this material has a unit weight of 120 pounds per cubic foot. Additionally, we have attached the soil boring logs and laboratory data that were compiled for this project.

3. 1949 Drawing of Sewer Relocation (Attached)

4. Potential Schedule Impact Let it be known that the city intends to have the sanitary sewer lined (CIPP) from gate valve 58 to gate valve 59. This work may have an impact on the construction schedule if access to GV59 is needed through the excavation trench. This work will be limited to five days otherwise arrangements will have to be made for alternative entry and access to GV59 for the purpose of lining. This work is not part of the scope of this project but may have a limited impact on schedule.
