NO. QUESTION ANSWER
1.
Why is Lawn Care Services - Tampa Group;
DMS-23/24-057 being rebid?
Previous solicitations have been issued without success.

Beside pressure washing concrete, could you let us know what other surfaces you expect us to clean?
Are we expected to pressure wash any buildings?
a. There are no other surfaces that will require pressure washing.
b. No.
3.
Is Pest Control twice a year along with the fertilization?
Yes.
4.
Also, section 2.2 Trimming and Edging Service paragraph 2.2.6 states: “ Tree branches must be thinned and elevated as needed. This applies to tree branches, limbs, and palm fronds fifteen (15) feet or less from the ground.”
Is this expected as part of the regular landscape maintenance service or part of Section 3 Other services paragraph 3.3 Tree trimming?
The requirements of Attachment A – Statement of Work, Section 2.2 are part of regular services.
5.
Bids are required for 3 locations with separate pricing sheets for each property.
Will the contract be awarded for the overall lowest price of the 3 properties combined or individually?
See Section 4.1, Basis of Award, of the ITB document.
6.

See Attachment A – Statement of Work, Section 2.3, Debris Removal Service.
7.
Where possible is it acceptable to blow leaves into grassy areas and mulch them up with mowers as a solution to scope of work 2.2.8?
No.
8.
Section 2.2.7 refers to “selective pruning and hard cutbacks” . What does this pruning and hard cutback pertain to ?
Shrubbery.
9.
Section 2.4.1 refers to fertilization of all grass , trees, shrubs, and plants. During our walk through of all 3 locations no shrubs nor plants were observed.
There are no plans to install new plants or shrubbery.
What plans, if any, do you have regarding installation of any new plants and shrubs?
We are asking this so that we can factor in any additional fertilization and irrigation costs.
10.
Section 2.4.1 requires lawn areas be treated with broadleaf weed control etc. During our walk through we noted that most of the grass areas are in very poor health and full of weeds.
Applying weed control will remove these weeds but will leave large areas with just dirt.
Does the state have any plans to resod at any of the 3 locations?
The Department does have plans for resodding and will work with the selected vendor on the best approach and cost.
Any resodding work, when required, will be considered outside the scope of this contract.
11.
Section 2.5.2 requires the contractor to maintain a minimum depth of 3 inches of mulch throughout the year. This section also requires re-mulching of the properties in April and October.
By definition, if we are maintaining the mulch at 3 inches , why is there a need to re-mulch twice a year?
Is this because you require removal of the old mulch and installation of new in April and October?
Yes. The old mulch must be removed and replaced with new mulch in April and October as indicated in Attachment A- Statement of Work, Section 2.5.
12.
During our walk throughs we noted many areas were not mulched to the required 3-inch depth.
Are we to assume that the successful bidder will be responsible for the rectification of this situation?
Yes. Any areas devoid of mulch will be required to have mulch installed in April per Attachment A – Statement of Work, Section 2.5.2.
13.
Section 2.6.1 states “All maintenance repairs or alterations to the existing irrigation system ( excluding pumps and timers) are the responsibility of the contractor”.
In the event of a line break or irrigation issue which has not been caused by the contractor, who is responsible for the associated costs?
See Addendum 2, item 1.

a. Both are in good working order.
b. Yes. The Contractor may inspect the irrigation system during the mandatory site visit, and if awarded, before work begins on each occasion.
15.
Attachment D -Price sheets. You appear to have issued requests for pricing on Trammell building twice and omitted Hargrett. We assume this is a typo.
Are you going to reissue the price sheets, or should we amend manually before submitting?
Please use REVISED Attachment D – Price Sheet, provided as part of Addendum 2.
