About this file
This is Addendum No. 6 to an Invitation to Bid (ITB No. PR-24-399) issued by the City of Long Beach, Department of Financial Management, for pump equipment, maintenance, and repairs services. The addendum clarifies and expands the scope of work to include maintenance, repairs, and programming of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and other associated system parts connected to pumps across all city parks, lakes, and irrigation systems. The contract will be on-call in nature rather than following a predetermined maintenance schedule. Two new line items have been added: Line Item 17 for maintenance and repair of miscellaneous or unlisted pumps and system parts quoted as an hourly rate, and Line Item 18 for replacement units of pumps not listed, quoted as a discount percentage from list price. Specific horsepower ratings have been provided for Grundfos pump bid items (7.5 HP, 10 HP, and 15 HP models), and suction/discharge specifications for the Pentair 364A SF pump (8x10x15) have been clarified.
The addendum addresses contractor responsibilities regarding replacement parts and upgrades, requiring contractors to notify the City representative if specified parts are unavailable and to provide quotes for alternative or replacement options. The City has emphasized that contractors must have the means to machine parts as stated in the original ITB scope. Equipment upgrades are included in the contract scope. All communication regarding the bidding process must occur through official channels and be confirmed in writing by the City Contact. Proposers are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and submitting it with their proposals; failure to do so may result in disqualification. The addendum was prepared by Anthony Delgado, Assistant Administrative Analyst II, on August 20, 2024.
