About this file

This document is Addendum 3 to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the City of Madison Finance Department for Mifare Smart Card Products. The addendum provides clarification on the scope of work, including a preference for MIFARE Ultralight EV1 128 byte or MIFARE Ultralight C smart cards in PVC format, and the requirement for the cards to be encoded as a Masabi Just Ride 31-day ride product. It also confirms that the printing on the plastic cards should be under the laminate to protect against abrasion and ink rubbing off. Additionally, the addendum notes that the paper cards should have a printed barcode rather than a chip, and vendors would need to work with Masabi to get this printed.

The contract opportunity is for the City of Madison and Dane County, Wisconsin. Vendors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum as part of their proposal submission. The document does not provide additional details on pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or other salient information.

RE: ADDENDUM 3

13084-0-2024-BG

Mifare Smart Card Products

Notice to All Bidders:

Question 1: Clause 2.1 Scope of Work. Mifare Ultralight Requirements/Pricing As per item 12, Material, the specification indicates "Material: ultralight". The ultralight cards can be PVC cards or paper tickets; can you kindly clarify Metro Transit's preference in this regard?

Answer 1: We’re looking for MIFARE Ultralight EV1 128 byte or MIFARE Ultralight C smart card. We’d prefer PVC not paper.

Question 2: Clause 2.1. Scope of Work. Mifare Ultralight Requirement/Pricing As per item 11, no encoding is necessary for the Ultralight cards. Can you clarify if this is a mistake? Please confirm if the ultralight cards should be encoded to work with Justride products.

Answer 2: They need to be encoded as a Masabi Just Ride 31-day ride product.

Question 3: The printing specs for the plastic cards state printing both sides and glossy but does the printing need to be under the laminate to protect from abrasion and ink rubbing off?

Answer 3: Yes.

Question 4: The spec for the paper cards says Mifare brand and not the technology or encryption. Can you confirm chip needs for the paper card?

Answer 4: There is no chip requirement on the paper card (Aztecs). It is a printed bar code. The vendor would need to work with Masabi to get this printed bar code.

Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum accordingly on RFP Form B, Receipt Forms and Submittal Checklist.
