About this file

This is Addendum No. 002 issued by Thompson & Litton Engineers Architects for the Patrick Henry Correctional Unit Window Replacement project (Project Code: 799-10887-1214) in Virginia. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents dated November 25, 2024, extending the bid submission deadline to February 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with bids to be received electronically through eVA. A virtual bid opening will be held on February 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM. The deadline for questions is January 24, 2025 at 12:00 PM. The project involves window replacement with new windows featuring anodized dark bronze finish.

The addendum provides technical clarifications regarding window installation details, specifically addressing concerns about window sill demolition and CMU work. It specifies that 1/4" polycarbonate shall be installed in the windows with U-Factor per manufacturer's designation, modifying the original U-Value requirement of 0.35. The contractor must exercise extreme care when removing existing window frames to avoid damage to glazed CMU and existing block/mortar. If damage occurs, specific replacement requirements are detailed for CMU units measuring 3-5/8"x7-5/8"x15-5/8" with bullnose finish.
