About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 for the City of Yachats New Library construction project in Yachats, Oregon. The bid due date is January 16, 2025 at 1:30pm, with bid opening at 1:40pm in the Civic Meeting room of the Commons at 441 Hwy 101 N. The addendum provides multiple technical clarifications including: specification that lettering/signage is by Owner except for code-required restroom signage; Window M specifications for a 3'x4' single-hung window with 1/3 vent; confirmation of no asbestos found in pre-demolition inspection; ceiling finish details for storage and restroom areas; window trim specifications; and mechanical loft construction details over Rooms 103, 104A, 105 & 107.

The addendum includes important structural and electrical specifications, notably that electrical undergrounding must be bored under the street rather than trenched and patched. Foundation pier requirements specify that end caps at helical tops can be bolted or welded, with emphasis on corrosion prevention due to the coastal environment. Solar panel infrastructure preparations are specified, though actual panel installation will be by Owner at a future date. The document clarifies that plantings are by Owner, with contractors responsible only for rough grading. Several elements like free-standing bookcases and exterior book drops are specified as not part of this contract but will be handled separately by the Owner.

Undergrounding of electrical to be bored under the street, not trenched and patched.

Structural clarification re: Foundation Piers:

For end caps at the top of the helical, the caps that are cast into the concrete can be bolted or welded.

Under pile installation line 22, clarification of watertight and welded - Intent is to not have risk of corrosion due to high salts and ocean climate concerns. The helical piers are typically hollow which can allow oxygen to get down the inside of the shaft and if they are not welded or watertight it is prone to corrosion unless they are using a stainless steel or otherwise corrosion resistant material. If using solid bar shaft material this concern would go away too. Suggest following guide in documents.
