About this file

This Addendum #2, issued May 5, 2022, by Sanders & Czapski Associates, PLLC on behalf of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, provides clarifications and revisions to the contract documents for Phase 3 Improvements at F.J. McLain State Park located at 18530 M-203 in Hancock, Michigan. The addendum adds Section 12 35 30 (Casework) specifications in their entirety and clarifies electrical panel requirements and installation methods for the Mini-Cabins. Specifically, electrical panels manufactured by Square D are specified with equal products from Eaton and Cutler Hammer permitted and subject to approval during the submittal process. New outlets in the Mini-Cabins must be flush-mounted with concealed wiring routed through wall cavities and crawl spaces without damage to existing surfaces, while new service panels and conduit may be surface-mounted to exterior walls. The date, time, and location for receipt of bids remain unchanged by this addendum, and bidders must acknowledge receipt on the Bid Form.

The casework specifications establish requirements for manufactured base and wall cabinets complying with Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) A161.1 standards and bearing the KCMA "Certified Cabinet" seal. Acceptable manufacturers include KraftMaid Cabinets, Thomasville Cabinetry, and Merillat Cabinets, with specifications requiring flush overlay style, face frame construction, wood stiles and rails with raised panels, decorative full-surface hinges, and wire pulls. Cabinets must be manufactured for commercial use with a finished counter height of 34 inches maximum above finished floor. Installation requirements mandate conditioning cabinets to prevailing humidity conditions, installation with concealed shims to maintain flush surfaces, level and plumb tolerance of 1/8 inch in 8 feet, and fastening to structural members using No. 10 wafer-head screws with 1-inch penetration or toggle bolts as appropriate. All work must comply with the State of Michigan 2015 Building Code Chapter 11 for accessibility requirements.
