Summary: Addendum No. 1 for RFQ UD-24-210

This is an addendum issued by Long Beach Utilities on October 9, 2024, providing clarifications and answers to fourteen questions submitted by proposers regarding RFQ No. UD-24-210 for Construction & Abandon Deep Well CP Groundbeds. The project involves cathodic protection (CP) system work, including system testing to ensure CP test points within the CP12 area meet -850mV criteria at five designated locations. Paving work is limited to the trenched portion only, per Long Beach Public Works Standard Plan 127. The RFI submission deadline is October 16, 2024, before 11:00 AM. Construction is estimated to commence in August 2025, contingent upon all necessary permits being approved from SCE, Well, and other regulatory agencies, with the delay attributed to a local street construction moratorium. A pre-construction site walk will be conducted with selected bidders. Plans and specifications are available through Long Beach Buys, and no engineer's estimate is available for the project.

Successful bidders must obtain two bonds: a Labor and Materials Bond for 100 percent of the bid cost if the total bid amount exceeds $25,000, and a Faithful Performance Bond for 100 percent of the bid cost, both due within ten calendar days of award notification. The cost of the Faithful Performance Bond must be included in the bid amount and invoiced accordingly. Contractors must possess a valid California Class A General Engineering Contractors License at the time of award and comply with all state and federal laws and regulations. All bonds must be issued to the City of Long Beach, Purchasing Division, located at 411 West Ocean Blvd., 6th Floor, Long Beach, California 90802. Proposers must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and submitting it with their proposal; failure to do so may result in disqualification.
