The key changes made in this addendum include: 1) modifying the general contractor license requirement to allow for an accreditation/certification from the playground equipment manufacturer to install the equipment, 2) reducing the minimum top wear course cap for the poured-in-place rubber surface from 1.5" to 1.0", and 3) adding an alternate for the poured-in-place rubber surface project area coverage requirement. Proposers must submit pricing on the forms provided, and Dawson County may exercise any combination of the pricing options. All costs are to be included in the quoted line items, and no pricing should be included in the technical proposal.

2. The requirement of a minimum of 1.5” top wear course cap for the poured in place rubber surface has been amended to a minimum of 1.0”.

4. All other dates, specifications, terms and conditions remain the same as posted in the RFP document.

The following are amendments to the RFP #441-24 Playground Upgrade for Rock Creek and

Veterans Memorial Parks:

QUESTION: Are we required to have a GC License?

ANSWER: Please see amendment number one above for this answer.

QUESTION: The PIP is specified to have a 1.5" cap. All fall tests are done with a .5" cap. A

1.5" cap will surely add additional costs for both the 616 and the top cap. How should we proceed with this?

ANSWER: Please see amendment number two above for this answer.

QUESTION: Are we required to cover the entire playground area with PIP, or will the "fall safety zone" areas be sufficient?

ANSWER: Please see amendment number three for this answer.

QUESTION: Our playgrounds are engineered at our factory; we do not have a staff engineer to be on site. Are we able to bid this? We have a project manager and our lead installer will be on site for all installations. Is this acceptable?

ANSWER: The RFP scope of work does not require that an engineer be on site, only that the engineer shall be assigned for the duration of this project. Yes, the project manager and lead installer shall be on site for all work. A Contractor staff member must also be onsite to receive and accept custody of the equipment upon arrival from the transporter.
