About this file

This Addendum #1 to Bid Invitation DAS 485-26 is issued by the New Hampshire Division of Procurement and Support Services for chandelier restoration services at the General Court of New Hampshire in Concord. The project involves the full restoration of four gasolier-style chandeliers, each approximately 3 feet by 3 feet in dimension, with weights unknown. The scope includes disassembly and labeling, detailed cleaning while retaining patina, lacquer removal and application of museum-grade lacquer, rewiring with UL-approved components, provision of one period-matching canopy, reassembly, functional testing, and UL testing and labeling for each fixture. One chandelier requires electrification from its original gas configuration. Work must be completed between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on state business days, with the building being a historic 1836 structure on the register. The bid closing date is June 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

The addendum addresses 20 questions from potential bidders regarding project specifications, materials, access, and approval processes. Key clarifications include: no photographs or historical records are available for review; dimensions are approximately 3 feet by 3 feet with unknown weights; some fixtures are brass while material composition of others is unknown; fixtures include crystal, glass prisms, and shades; no gas piping remains connected; UL field evaluation is acceptable; ceiling heights are 10-12 feet; work must be completed using ladders with all equipment costs included in the bid; workers require state personnel accompaniment; a $2,000 contingency allowance is included for unforeseen repairs requiring prior state approval; and all bid prices must remain firm with no additional charges permitted. Bidders must provide comprehensive general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, plus workers' compensation insurance. A one-year warranty from date of acceptance covers 100 percent of repair or replacement costs. Pricing must be broken into total materials cost, total labor cost, and the contingency allowance, submitted in U.S. dollars.
