About this file

This is an Addendum 1 Questions and Answers document for the Pueblo Regional Center Hub A Boiler Replacement project in Colorado, dated July 27, 2026. The addendum addresses two critical technical inquiries from prospective bidders regarding the project scope. The first question concerns the electrical capacity of panel LA2 for accommodating a new 3-pole breaker required for pump installation, with the response clarifying that while LA2 has no spare breaker capacity, panel LA1 contains four available breakers that could serve this purpose. The second question addresses the current natural gas pressure feeding the existing boiler, with the response indicating that incoming service pressure is approximately 2 psi, though the respondent acknowledges this has not been personally verified with a gauge and suggests confirming whether Preston's recollection of less than 2 psi is accurate through an actual pressure reading at the service entrance.

The addendum provides technical specifications noting that most boilers require a minimum inlet pressure of 5 to 7 inches of water column and a maximum of 14 inches of water column, establishing baseline requirements for the natural gas system design. This clarification is essential for bidders to accurately assess electrical and mechanical modifications needed for the boiler replacement, ensuring proposals account for potential panel upgrades or additional pressure regulation equipment that may be necessary to meet equipment specifications.

Addendum 1 DQ 202700015 Pueblo Regional Center Hub A Boiler Replacement Questions and Answers 7/27/2026

1. Can you please verify that panel LA2 has physical and electrical capacity for the new 3 pole breaker that will be needed to install the pump. There are no spare breakers in LA2 but there are 4 spare breaker in LA1.

2. What is the gas pressure now feeding the existing boiler? The incoming natural gas service to the building should be approximately 2 psi, which is a common distribution pressure for commercial facilities prior to building pressure regulation. However, I have never personally verified the pressure with a gauge. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe Preston mentioned the existing service pressure is operating at less than 2 psi, although this should be confirmed by taking an actual pressure reading at the service entrance. Many boilers specify a minimum inlet pressure of 5-7 in. W.C and maximum of 14 in. W.C.
